Student Government Association Election Results
By Meghana Singh
Last Thursday, May 28th, sophomore students ran for office in the Student Government Association (SGA). Students have been preparing for the election for weeks, designing posters, writing speeches, and campaigning inside of school. The results were announced at the end of the day on Friday and also on Tuesday.
Congratulations to our new SGA members for the 2015-2016 school year! It was a very close election and all the candidates who ran deserve a huge round of applause for putting themselves out there and talking in front of the entire school.
The new SGA members are:
-
Co-presidents: Courtney Bryan and Arjun Gupta
-
Club representative: Peter Nekrasov
-
Freshman/Junior representative: Niko Fotopolis
-
Sophomore/Senior representative: Alison Pagalilauan
-
PSFA representative: Varsha Garla
-
Director of Student Affairs: Emily Bekampis and Thomas Lehan
-
Communications Chairman: Nate Byrnes
Make sure to congratulate these students if you see them walking through the hallways or in class. They put in a lot of work to reach out and grab the interest of the students, and will work hard to benefit the school in the long run. These SGA members will be officially inducted by the current SGA members (Ethan Seltzer, Ruchi Raval, Alec Battaglia, Celine Lee, Burton Ye, Joanna Barton, Janelle Hampton, Brian D'Agostino and Jane Warshaw) next winter. Congratulations again, and good luck in office next year!
