SOS Leads Earth Day Celebration

On Friday, April 22, more than one billion people in 192 countries throughout the world will take action to protect our shared global environment in celebration of Earth Day. Students of Service (SOS) encourages everyone in the BTHS community to join the celebration!

In SOS Club Meetings, we're growing caterpillars into butterflies, recycling used bottle caps and distributing tree saplings to all members to plant at home.

Suggested Earth Day Activities For Students:

  • Pack a waste-free lunch
  • Pick up any of your missing items at the Lost & Found
  • Take the bus instead of driving or carpool with a friend
  • Clean out your lockers and recycle old papers

Suggested Earth Day Activities for Teachers:

  • Turn the lights off in your classroom
  • Don’t make any paper copies (or print double sided copies)
  • Limit usage of electronic devices
  • Drink from a reusable water bottle or thermos

In the community, take advantage of independent (not school sponsored) service opportunities to better Monmouth County's environment:
