A Note From Dr. Eno....

Dear Parents, Alumni, Advisory Board Members, and Community Partners,

I know the rumor mill is churning but I wanted to wait for Board approval before putting out an official communiqué.  So, now it’s official.  Starting January 1st I will be leaving Biotech.  I will be going to work at the NJ Department of Education in the Office of Evaluation.  I have been working with the NJDOE over the past 2 years.  When they invited me to come work on the team full time, and the district supported it, I decided to take the opportunity.   I will be going under what is called a Governmental Employee Interchange.  That means I will remain an employee of the Monmouth County Vocational School District, on loan to the state for two years.

My entire educational career has been spent in the Monmouth County Vocational District and I have been given outstanding opportunities here. I was part of the team that opened Allied Health and then moved on to serve as the founding principal of Biotechnology High School.  In that time I have been privileged to work with some of the finest educators and most talented students in the state. I thank Superintendent Tim McCorkell, former Superintendent Brian McAndrew and  the Board of Education for their support over the years.

We opened BTHS 10 years ago and together we built a learning community that now ranks among the top in the county.  The journey has been challenging, inspiring and rewarding and I laughed everyday.  I am not leaving because I think there is a better job: there isn’t.  I am leaving because I believe in lifelong learning and the IB Learner attribute of risk taking for growth.  I am leaving because other work is calling. But I will miss the staff and the students more than I can say.

I will be finishing up here as we go out on winter break. Taking my place will be Mr. Sean Meehan.  He worked here at BTHS in the Social Studies department and then moved on to serve as a supervisor in the district. He will do an outstanding job. He will be joining me at the December 15th parent meeting so please come out and meet him. I will see many of you before then.  For those that I don’t see, I wish you a wonderful Thanksgiving and know that I will not be hard to find.  I will retain a district email account and phone numbers will stay the same.

Thank you for all you have done for the school and for me.  Please continue to stay active in the school community: your involvement is critical for sustained success.

 With deepest gratitude….

Dr. Eno
